Since 2006

The reactive glazing technique bears the breath of history and has existed for over 1000 years. However, it has faded away gradually since the Industrial Revolution.

Benefiting from forty-year experiences in reactive high-fired glazes, Mr Jarlov and his wife Phan Thi Thuy Mai returned to Vietnam from France to pursue their passion for preserving this traditional art by developing quality ceramics using available local resources, with a touch of contemporary aesthetic.

Đông Gia Ceramics then, was born and located in the Mekong Delta in 2008. Nowadays, Đông Gia is proudly one of the leading high-quality reactive glaze-fired ceramics brands in Vietnam, which is well-known for its 100%Vietnamese craftsmanship, selected local ingredients, skilled firing techniques up to 1.300 Celsius degrees and unique contemporary art under the guidance of the master ceramist Francois Jarlov.
